Room 11: Home
The rural house, often small and narrow but dignified, was almost constituted by an only room. Center of the domestic life was the hearth, angle reserved primarily to the woman, complete of the utensils for the preparation of a poor, but refreshing meal after the works of the rural job.
Pots, boilers, wooden spoons, brushwoods to feed the flame: everything was to disposition of the woman queen of the home. In an angle was the beffétte, table around which the family gathered for the meal, ornate often by the alone great imperial serving dish from which anyone drew the food.
