The Museum
The Museum of the Country Civilization is born in 1968 for wish and ideal impulse of professor Vito Donato Bianco and it was entitled to him after his premature death in the 1990. The museum is harboured in the Caracciolo Castle since its debuts. Nevertheless, during the long job of restauration suffered by this historian building in the nineties, it finds a provisional center in the Palazzo Pinto. From May 22nd 2004, returned in his deputed center, he offers him to the fruition of the public re-prepared and with the objects opportunely repaired.
Along the four levels of the exposure, the objects propose and recall the values and the charm of the country world, base of our culture and our progress. Room by room the visitor makes a trip in the time to the search of the common roots, those tied up to the culture of the country civilization, reliving the various moments of the life of men that set their talent in to meet the difficulties of every day. They became from time to time agriculturists, as testified through the productive cycles of the wheat, of the olive oil and of the wine, or artisans, as represented from the shops of the blacksmith, of the stone-cutter, of u mčste traģne, u uarnementare, and of many other ancient works. A strong well illustrated religious feeling was to articulate the life of these men in the room devoted to the popular religiousness.
The museum maintains the bond with its territory through the finds that testify the historical evolution of it and it realize, by means of workshop activity, the didactic vocation that characterizes it since the foundation. |
